Heggade Seva Sangha was founded on 14th July 1948 by three visionary and highly respected leaders from our community — Late Shri Marnadu Raghava G. Hegde, Late Shri Mudradi Raghava Hegde, and Late Shri Aithmajalu Padmayya Hegde. With the noble intention of uniting and uplifting members of the Heggade community in Mumbai, these great stalwarts laid the foundation of a collective institution that continues to grow stronger with time.
In the year 1980, the Sangha was officially registered under the Maharashtra Societies Registration Act and the Public Trusts Act, giving it a formal legal identity to expand its mission and serve the community in a more structured way.
A special mention must be made of Shri Aithmajalu Padmayya Hegde, who made a remarkable contribution by donating his personal premises located at Kanjur Marg to the Sangha. This act of generosity gave the Sangha a permanent space to operate from, and to this day, this very location serves as our official registered address.
Taking another major leap forward, in 2009, the Sangha proudly constructed its own dedicated building at Airoli, Navi Mumbai. This building houses a multipurpose hall and has become the central hub for all our community activities, including cultural programs, educational support initiatives, health drives, monthly bhajan sessions, sports events, and more.
The journey of Heggade Seva Sangha is a testament to the foresight of its founders, the selfless contributions of its members, and the unity of the Heggade community in Mumbai. We continue to build on this legacy with pride and purpose, serving our people with dedication and devotion.
